$1 from each Restaurant Week meal sold will be donated to the Mark S. Tinsley Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mark was a very influential restaurateur in Staunton and we see a donation to this scholarship fund as a way to honor his memory for the positive impact he had and continues to have on the City of Staunton. For over twenty years, Mark contributed to building the foundation of Staunton’s downtown rebirth. He owned or operated five restaurants in Staunton over this time and served actively in the Staunton community on several boards and commissions such as the Historic Staunton Foundation, YMCA and the Shenandoah Kiwanis, just to name a few.
This scholarship is designed to assist a Staunton, Augusta County or Waynesboro high school or college level applicant interested in the culinary arts, hospitality management, or business administration and related degrees and is overseen by the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge.
